Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • You should hire our firm if you want to make sure things are done correctly and if you would prefer to let us worry about your case so that you don’t have to. Szilagyi Law LLC’s motto is “unapologetically thorough” for a reason. We recognize that our attention to detail and insistence on reviewing each and every aspect of your case may annoy or inconvenience those prosecuting you, but we have sworn an oath to represent each of our clients zealously, no matter the size or scope of the case. Most criminal or traffic matters involve people being punished for failing to follow the rules; with that in mind, we take the necessary steps to ensure that everyone participating in your prosecution is following the rules as well.

  • We apply our unapologetically thorough approach to all cases we handle, big or small. That being said, there’s a special place in our hearts for cases where we litigate the constitutionality of a search or seizure.

  • Nope. We are ready, willing, and able to handle any and all criminal or traffic matters in Pennsylvania. No case is too big or too small.

  • Nope. While our office is located in Lancaster County, we routinely travel to nearby (and sometimes very far away) counties.

  • We do not. Our practice is limited to non-federal cases filed in Pennsylvania.

  • We don’t require in-person consultations, although meeting in person is always preferred. We feel our clients can get the best sense of our staff and how our office operates by experiencing it in person. However, we pride ourselves on catering to our clients’ needs and preferences, so if it is more feasible or preferred to consult over the phone or by video, we are happy to oblige.

  • Our consultation fee is $100.

  • The cost for a prison visit depends on which prison our attorneys are visiting. A prison visit at the Lancaster County Prison (LCP) is $100.00, while a prison visit requiring significant travel time and distance will cost significantly more.

  • Payment arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis. Each attorney quotes his own fee for representation. Generally speaking, we do “flat fee” billing where the client knows exactly how much representation will cost, as opposed to paying the firm a retainer and then being billed for each phone call, letter, court appearance, and/or meeting required during the course of representation.

  • We accept cash, check, and credit/debit card payments.

  • Suh-LODGE-ee. It’s Hungarian.
